About Us
Dan Wilson is almost a Richmond native having moved to the Fan with his family at the age of 6. During college, he joined the military and met his wife, Linda, while he was stationed in Germany. After serving, they moved to Logan, Utah and entered into a life of real estate first as Realtors and later owning and operating their own real estate brokerage firm. Simultaneously, Dan began to develop subdivisions and design/build custom homes which later became his primary profession. They moved from Utah to North Carolina and finally back home to Richmond in 1983 where they have now raised two daughters, gained two son-in-laws and two grandsons.
Dan’s luxury custom homes have mainly been concentrated in the West End in neighborhoods such as Windsor on the James, Countryside and Paris Ridge. His passion has been working closely with each family throughout every step of the process from designing to move in. With 40+ years of experience, Dan has stream-lined the process to build as efficiently as possible without sacrificing quality.
Kat, the Wilson’s youngest daughter, and her husband, Dan Byrnes, joined Starwood in 2016. They were married in 2011 and spent their first 5 years together in Suffolk, VA where Dan already had an established career.
Before Starwood, Dan had 12 years of experience working for a large construction and property management firm in Chesapeake, VA. He started out in the field as a laborer during the summers throughout high school and college. After graduating from Old Dominion University, Dan entered into project management for single-family, multi-family and commercial construction within the same company. He managed every step of the process from site development and construction to sales and leasing. As the company began to focus more on their property management division, Dan transitioned to an asset management role responsible for close to half a million square feet of commercial space. With Starwood, Dan is responsible for the day-to-day operations of development and construction. He enjoys working directly with clients on a personal level to ensure complete satisfaction throughout the build.
As a builder’s daughter, Kat always knew she was passionate about real estate and construction. After Dan and Kat built several homes together in Suffolk, they knew to pursue it full time and moved to the Richmond area to join the family business. Kat is a licensed realtor and represents all of Starwood's sales. She also works with custom home clients to help with interior design and finish selections.
